Rule out my home network. One hardwired computer, two wireless, three phones, and one iPad all run off the network. I carred this HP I'm having trouble with off to a wireless hotspot which is unsecured (no password required) and still get the yellow Limited Connection flag. It will not connect to the internet.
No hardware fault (device manager says all devices working properly). Is there a test to assure that is true?
Otherwise, I still have a software issue, which is what I suspect. The internet connect failed just after an update (spouse was unclear if it was the last windows update or antivirus update). In any case, I completely uninstalled the antivirus package as previously stated and that was no help. One odd thing, though...the windows firewall will NOT enable.
Another odd thing...windows won't let me roll back. It says no file found despite showing me several reversion dates to choose from. From what I've read online, those who have this problem and rolled back were unsuccessful, anyway!
I have scanned for viruses, trojans, bots, adware, malware, bad sectors, corrupt registry, etc. Nothing noted with off-the-shelf or online scanning services...
HELP!!!!!
