Re: HP ENVY Touchsmart 15t with Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 chipset not picking up Wireless N

I bought a HP ENVY 17-j053ea Notebook PC  Product number (P/N): E7A75EA and it unfortunately only came with Windows-8 which meant I had to spent a lot of time downloading endless updates and patches before it was even remoetely stable. Once I had managed to boot directly to desktop and to restore the start-menu, I was pretty stable, and although it took forever to boot, I could use it.

Two weeks ago came yet another raft of post 8.1 fixes and the final one killed the wireless completely. No matter what I do it cannot find any networks and the only clue is that the adapter is called "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 #2" yet there is no evidence of a #1??

Since the upgrade the HP Assistant crashes upon load and the Windows network troublshooter says there is something wrong with the driver but cannot fix it?

I would take the laptop back under warranty but have spent so much money on other software such as MS Office, Winzip, Start-8, etc, I cannot afford, and do not see why, I should buy it again.

I can only say that I am REALLY DISAPOINTED with the lack of performance of W8(WAIT) as it seems to be much slower than my very old W7 HP laptop running W7, and cannot understand why there are so many compability problems with it. e.g. Samsung Kies.
