You may want to consider cleaning the fan/heatsink area with a can of compressed air if you have never done that before.

 

I remove the battery and A/C power.  Then I place a pin or something long and thin enough to get through the fan intake vent to place between 2 of the fan blades to keep the fan from spinning (will wreck the bearings if you let the fan spin too fast).

 

I spray several blasts through the fan intake and watch the dust blow out the exhaust vent.

 

Then I spray the air from the exhaust vent toward the fan.
