Re: standalone network printer

I have established a wired ethernet connection between my HP printer and wifi router.  Router manufacturer assures me this should work, with proper drivers from printer manufacturer.

When I attempt wireless setup, I get "Specified device does not exist as an installed device".

Installed where? It was has been connected to the network base station by usb cable, soon to be replaced, hopefully. I assume this connection is necessary to install required network drivers.

There is in the manual continued reference to the never-included-with-my -HP-printer cd, which apparently contains the drivers I require, but cannot locate on the HP website.

This seems to be the logical place to find information, but I would be better off with sites such as Tom's Hardware.
