NXP's Proximity Based SmartCard Reader
Paramètre incorrect.
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file for sp78840.
It clearly shows support for that ID.

Thanks for the reply. the thing is, when i try to install the adequate driver for my laptop which is a Pavillon, Serial number 5CD5395GMF, a message pops uo at the end saying that "the installation is completed, please refer to thel log file for more details" aaand nothing happens!!! the driver isn't installed!
I tried other drivers from a third party but they don't work properly! "the wifi is not stable, the range is too small, wifi connection very limited....)
Now, i'm not sure what's the problem is, Should i change the wifi card?
Note: I had a windows 10 pre-installed in my pc, i changed the hard disque into an SSD, now i'm on windows 7, i don't know if it has antything to do with this problem!
Good morning everyone, I want to upgrade the wifi adapter in my HP Pavilion 17-g178ca laptop, however, within the Maintenance and Service Guide, there is conflicting information.
Guide:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655191
I want a Dual band wifi adapter, the manual shows the part as being 784644-005 (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter (non vPRO)) but searches online for that exact part number always return with a different model Wifi adapter (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter)
Which one should I be getting? Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear things up for me!
That is what I am seeing , too. The part number is a 3160, which is not a bad wireless card but is not as good as a 7265.
I believe the reference in the Manual to a 7265 card is a typo.
Here is the Manual:
See p. 38 for "how to".
If your laptop was fitted from the factory with any wireless card other than the Intel, you only have a single antenna and upgrading to any dual band card will be next to impossible. However, your specs seem to say you already have the 3160 card which includes 2 antennae. Also, your laptop has no whitelist so you are not limited to using one of the HP part number cards.
You can therefore install this card and it will work:

Hi:
Here is the link to the driver you need for the usb controller...
This package contains the Renesas USB 3.0 driver. This driver is available for supported notebook models with supported operating systems.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54511.exe
There can be one of many different model wifi cards HP could have installed in your notebook.
Please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
After you provide that info, I will post the link to the wireless card driver you need.
i recently bought a secondhand HP pavilion 14-V208TX intel core 17 5500U
the wireless internet connection is slower than my HP 14-r019tu even tough the router is just 2m away.
my HP 14-r019tu can do 12.39 Mbps but my 14-V208TX can only do 3.1 Mbps.
i already update my wireless driver but there are no significant changes.
i dont know whether the problem is from my wireless card or maybe from the settings
i will apreciate anykind of your help.
You're very welcome.
You need this wifi driver for the model wifi card your notebook has...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188CE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
I found this post and it has a link that is old and doesn't work anymore.
I can't connect to the internet with my Atheros Card and I also found this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/31108-43-help-atheros-ar5007-wifi-adapter-connecting-router
and in there it says to change the network address to 192.168.1.1 in advanced settings of the device which didn't work and I also tried 192.168.0.1 since that is my default gateway.
So I'm guessing that its an outdated driver?? since the first link people have gotten it to work with the linked driver but since the link doesn't work anymore I can't try it. I'm able to get onto the internet with ethernet and also with a USB wifi adapter but that is inconvenient and I would like to use the internat mini pcie card since its there.
If someone could link me to the same thing that was linked in that first post that would be great or maybe some other way to get my adapter to work?
Actually
was the person to link the fix on the old post and I see he is helping people still actually today so If you see this paul could you give me that link?
Thanks.
