If you used the windows update program to search for drivers, that is only as good as when the hardware manufacturers release drivers to the windows update site.

Below is the link to the latest driver for the wireless card in your notebook (5.0.23.0 (8 Apr 2013)).

The part that concerns me is that the ethernet connection is just as slow.
