Windows 10 v 1903 killed my Bluetooth

$

I updated to 1903 today. Now my laptop doesn't recognize that it has internal Bluetooth capability. No Bluetooth icon in the Device Manager (hidden objects displayed), I have manually installed drivers from HP, I have run the troubleshooter, which says my laptop doesn't have Bluetooth capability, I have run smc/scannow, I have enabled the services in services.msc, and literally everything else I've found in 4 hours of looking on countless forums. I don't even know if the wireless adapter driver is the same one that I had before the update, but I manually installed the latest ones. I despise trackpads and I now have a $90 Logitec Laser Paperweight. Thanks Microsoft.

ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE DEEPLY APPRECIATED!

Wireless adapter doesn't work and halts startup

Hi, I was cleaning the insides of my laptop as it was accumulating dust inside, and not just in the fan, so I decided to disassemble some parts(i.e. built-in battery, speaker module, HDD, motherboard, etc.) After cleaning, I reassembled the parts as it was before, then opened it. At first, everything looked fine, until I discovered that the touch screen function isn't working, and wasn't showing on the device manager. I rebooted the device but to no avail. So I reopened the PC and check for hardware problems. Detached some devices and all. After then, the touchscreen function was fixed, but now the wireless adapter isn't working. I tried rebooting a bunch of times, again to no avail  tried reconnecting everything again, but nothing happened. I gave up and decided to hook it up to a LAN cable for the meantime. All was good until one time, the PC shut off due to low battery, and when I opened it, it was stuck, and wasn't able to boot again. I tried system recovery and refreshing, but it always ends up in an error, so I decided to reformat the device. After reformatting, the PC still won't continue to boot(it was stuck to the hp loading screen). I tried detaching the wireless adapter completely, and the computer continued to boot.

Hope you can help me fix the problem.

Trouble connection WWAN antenna to new snapdragon card

I have purchased a new Snapdragon WWAN module and it is working fine except I am having a problem connecting the wires for the antenna.  I don't want to force and damage them but wondering if the original wires were dummy wire because the ends seem to be solid. Would they install dummy wires?

, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What model HP PC are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name, Product Number.

Have you tried connecting an external mouse and check if that works?

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Also, check for any pending Windows update. Reboot the PC.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

I recommend you perform a system restore on the computer back to the date when the cursor was working fine.

Follow the steps mentioned in this article to perform a system restore.

Hi:

Since your notebook only has one antenna cable connected to the wifi card in there now, there is only one model AC card you can upgrade to, and that is this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)
HP Part # L17365-005

The card has been on back order from HP for eons now, but you can find one for sale on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005++&_sacat=0&_sop=15

Here is the link to your notebook's service manual where you can find the wifi adapter R & R procedure....

Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB.bat (not a .TXT) and double click to run.
Preferably run as an Administrator.
OR copy and use the individual command lines as needed.

Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.

OFF
getmac
netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show drivers
netsh wlan show interfaces

PAUSE

systeminfo
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"
PowerShell -Command "GIP -Detailed"
PowerShell -Command "Test-NetConnection"

PAUSE

The above commands, done individually will help us when you post the results.

Re: Upgrading WIFI card

One quick question. Can this WIFI card connect to both 2.4 gHZ and 5 gHz?

Re: Upgrading WIFI card

$

Yes, it can.

It will work exactly the same as the Realtek wifi card you have in there now on the 2.4 GHz wifi band (72 MBPS max throughput), and on the 5.0 GHz wifi band it will have a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS with an AC router, and 150 MBPS with a dual band N router.

hp pavillion with 8.1 will not connect online after factory reset

I have done a factory reset on this hp pavillion laptop with 8.1 os that was factory installed.. The reason I had done the reset was because the machine refuses to stay online even with wire plugged in.  periodically it will see available internet and once online the connection will fade and disconnect from wifi/wire connection ... Prior too factory reset the drivers were updated..

Is the machine junk now??...   Any ideas??

Hello

I too have the issue of the hiccups every minute or 45 secs. Absolutely annoying when gaming, I'm basically useless online thanks to this.

I've tried LOTS of things and nothing worked for me (RealtekRTL8822BE 802.11ac)

  • Update windows
  • Update HP (BIOS and network)
  • Reset the PC (when I do this it works fine until the very first Windows update)
  • Uninstall updates (won't let me uninstall all of them, specially the first updates after the reset)
  • Buy a usb wifi adapter (Tp-link AC1300 Archer T4U) and disabling the Realtek adapter.*** (This should be a solution but surprisingly it isn't)
  • Update Nvidia
  • Modem's technical support (works fine)

So far nothing works for me but reseting the PC until the first updates are automatically installed (couple of hours after the reset)

Any other suggestions?

After hours of useless 'solutions,' I finally fixed this problem by deleting my Wi-Fi adapter, and and unidentified USB device in device manager and rebooting three times.  The last time, the unidentified USB device just showed up as an other device.  I was able to right click and update drivers, and it identified as Bluetooth. Hope this helps someone. This was very aggravating.
